Happy 5 years!

Yesterday, Jamin & I celebrated 5 years of marriage. We feel so blessed to have each other. We have had an awesome 5 years!

Kevin & Sonya looked after the kiddies while we went out to celebrate. First we went to Opa, a Greek restaurant downtown. YUM! Next we headed to the waterfront for a nice walk. While there, we noticed Dwight Dion (from last year's Canadian Idol) was playing. We watched him for a bit.

He was playing to help celebrate 250 of Canadian Democracy. We knew a guy that was helping put on the show and he gave Jamin a free jacket! Pretty nice! Then, we went to the grocery store (we love grocery shopping so much; we just can't stay away!). We ran into our friend Matt and his friend, Sarah. We finished our date at Tim Horton's. Chatting about these past 5 years. We tried to remember what we had done each year to celebrate and we successfully remembered 3 of the last 5 anniversaries. Not bad, I guess. Maybe I should look back on the blog and see if I get any clues...

To close, here we are 5 years ago and then yesterday.
I don't want to get too mushy, but I feel like the luckiest girl. Jamin is a fantastic husband & father. I love him more & more as the years go on.

Happy 6 months, Micah!

Today Micah is six months old! In some ways, it has gone by so quickly and in other ways, it's hard to remember a time without him.

He had his dr's appointment tonight. Here are his stats:

Ht: 70 cm (27.6 inches), 86 percentile
Wt: 18.6 lbs, 65 %
Head: 44 cm (17.3 inches), 58 %

Here are some highlights from Micah's life:

-He rolls from his back to belly like crazy. He sleeps on his belly.
-Micah isn't that interested in his soother anymore. He still takes it sometimes, but he prefers his thumb.
-He naps 2-3 times a day and has been sleeping through the night for about a month now. It's wonderful!
-He is sitting up with support. He tends to lean forward and go on his belly.
-He can spin all the way around on his belly. He often will move from one part of the room to another by rolling and spinning!
-He's a very easy going baby. He'll sleep anywhere and generally just fusses for a minute then falls asleep. In the morning when he wakes up, he's content to "play" in his crib for a while before getting up.
-We just got back from CB. He is an excellent traveler. Rarely minds being in his car seat and enjoys watching Naomi.
-He's been eating cereal for a couple of weeks now and really likes it. We will start meat this week. Hopefully he'll like it. I think I'll start with chicken.
-No teeth yet and not much drooling yet.

We love Micah sooo much and are so thankful for him. It's been a great 6 months!

Clan Gathering

Peter & Micah excited about the Clan Gathering :)
Every other summer, Clan Donald & Angus has a big family reunion the first weekend in August. We had a fun weekend visiting with our family. I have lots of pics for your viewing pleasure :)

Saturday morning there was a golf tournament that Peter & Jamin played in. Here are the guys in their Clan Donald hats. Nice.I'm proud to announce that Jamin had the most birdies in the tournament (most being one!) and he won a prize. Not to be outdone, Peter won for the longest drive.Speaking of prizes, Micah won the prize for the youngest clan member in attendance! Way to go, Micah :)

Micah claiming his prizeMicah savoring his prize. That afternoon was the reunion. Lots of games for the kids (big & little!). Naomi had a great time! We took the opportunity to get some family pictures.

Triple Date!

Last night we had the pleasure of going on a triple date with Kevin & Sonya and Rick & Danielle. Kevin's parents came over to watch all 4 children here. Kevin & Sonya are staying with us for the next month before they leave for Honduras. (Naomi & Claire are having a great time together!!) We went to Baan Thai for the main course. It was sooo delicious!

Rick & Danielle had to leave for CB after that, but the four of us kept going and had some yummy dessert at il Mercato. These pictures are to show R&D how much fun we had and that they should have come too! :)

Good-bye rat tail

Today I decided to cut Naomi's "rat-tail" off. Her hair has not been cut since she was born. There was this one section of hair that was longer than the rest. It's gone now! Naomi was really excited to get her hair cut. She has watched Jamin & I get haircuts before.

Ian got his

We got to see Lau last night which was great. Jamin & I both really like Ian and have a great deal of respect for him. We had a good time catching up with him and introduced him to Micah.

Oh, and Ian just got the sippy cup he ordered, so hopefully ours are on the way too!
