Is it wrong to miss winter?

Are you a "heat person"? Do you love this weather? It was 32 yesterday and is supposed to be the same today. Not to complain, but I really don't enjoy the heat. It seems either you love it or hate it.

I generally do not like a fan running while we sleep (unfortunately Jamin loves it). I don't like the noise mostly. Anyway, last night we did run a fan along with the one on our ceiling and it did help a bit.

What's your take on the heat? Love it or hate it?

Allison's visit!

Jamin's cousin (& mine now too!), Allison came for a visit and we had a great time! She fit right in here! She enjoyed hanging out with us and napping when nap time came :) A woman after my own heart!

Weekend in review

I went home this weekend with Cynthia & Shawn. I actually went without Jamin & Naomi! They had a great Daddy/Daughter weekend and I had a chance to visit with friends & family and catch up on sleep! I didn't really take any pics of the fam this weekend, but I have a few of some friends.

I also got together with Cindy. It was great to catch up & chat!
Cindy & I have been friends since junior high and I always love seeing her.

When I got back Sunday, we got together with Colin, Tara, & Chloe. We went for a nice walk in a local park and then stopped for some grub. Jamin dared Colin to go for a triple, so of course, he did. That's a lot of ice cream! Colin looks excited about it...:)

It's so good to be back with Jamin & Naomi. I missed them while I was away. It's fun to go and fun to come back! Have a great week, everyone!

The latest happenings

I'm happy to report that my antibiotics have worked wonders and I'm feeling so much better! After not feeling well, I appreciate my health so much more than usual.

I have a few pics to share of our latest happenings. This first one I thought was cute because she has her pig-tails in. She looks so much more grown up! She continues to be my little shadow & helper :)On Sunday, we went downtown to the Tall Ships. It was fun to be downtown and see the sights. Naomi enjoyed watching all the people & dogs. Here we are; of course, Naomi isn't looking...The other day we went to the driving range so Jamin could practice before his company golf tournament. I'm proud to report that Jamin's team won for the second year in a row!
That's all the news for now. The weather has been nicer here lately and we've been using Naomi's pool lots and Jamin has been taking Naomi for lots of bike rides. We have a couple of trips planned to see family; hopefully this weather will keep up! Ah summer time!

Our medical system

I have a sinus infection. I've never had one before and I hope to never have one again. It's horrible.

What I want to talk about though is our medical system. I know it has its flaws and all, but I'm thankful for it. I called a walk-in clinic yesterday afternoon and was able to get an appointment for that evening. The clinic is less than 10 minutes from my house. I had a bit of a wait when I got there, but that didn't bother me. I saw the Dr, he gave me a prescription, I ran it to Sobeys, and now I'm on antibiotics and hopefully we feel better really soon. What a great country we live in! Such easy access to medical aid.

What are your thoughts?

For Mother's Day, Jamin sent his mother a card. However, it came back to us even though we had the correct address on it. There was some type of error somewhere along the line. I called Canada Post about it and they sent me a free book of stamps! I think that's pretty good customer service. Thank you, Canada Post!

For Uncle Peter & all Eagles' fans!

Naomi noticed the hat that Uncle Peter had given her a while back and wanted to put it on. She really reminded me of Jamin when he wears a hat (which is rare). Go Eagles go!

Happy Canada Day! (warning...long post...)

We spent the long weekend in Cape Breton with my family. It was nice to get away and see our family & friends in CB. Naomi especially enjoyed the cottage this year now that she can get around :)

Jamin & I driving, driving, driving. Naomi did really well on the drives this time.Grampie & Naomi...welcome to the cottage!We did some kayaking. Naomi really loved it!The guys did some fishing, but didn't have much to show!We hit a few balls and Jamin & Peter went golfing one morning. I'm actually not as bad as I thought I would be at driving thanks to Peter's tips.

She loved the beach. She played with her new buckets & toys.
We buried her in the sand and she thought it was pretty funny :)
We played lots of cards and spent time with Peter & Janine too. We also got to see Mary & Eric's house. They are really making progress with it.
I can't wait to see the finished product!

One night we also went out to Shushan to see some friends that were also home for a visit.
It was sooo good to see them!

Ah vacations...a great time to relax!!
