Yummy cookies

Yesterday when I asked Naomi if she wanted to make muffins with me (she loves to bake with me), she said, "No, let's make cookies." So we did. She loves to make different shapes with our cookies cutters. I love doing stuff like this with Naomi. Micah was happy to play & watch.\

Mama/Daughter Day Out

It's not very often that Jamin has a Saturday morning to himself. Today, after I put Micah down for his morning nap, I took Naomi shopping. Jamin was able to enjoy 3 hours of quiet time while Micah slept (usually he only does 1.5-2 hrs in the morning, but this morning he had a looong nap!). Naomi & I had a great time out & about. She is at such a fun age. She easy to take places now and so fun! I am so blessed to have a daughter.

Here are some pics from the morning:Naomi & I ready to hit the road

She isn't aware that if you put money in they will actually move.Naomi & I at McDonald's. I love this pic.

Here are a couple of cute pics of Micah from yesterday. I love my boy.
Finally, a pic of the Mattheis family. We are so happy to have them here!

Friends & family

A few miscellaneous pics I want to put up.

First, Kevin, Sonya, Claire & Max. This is the night before they left for Hondoras. They stayed with us for 6 weeks before they went. I've been thinking abou them lots and I was happy to be able to chat with Sonya today! We miss you guys! Next, here are Joel & Micah. We were happy to have Joel stay with us a couple of nights this week. This weekend we are happy to have my parents here. Today they took Naomi to the Valley to pick blueberries. Naomi had a great time!Jamin & I made a turkey dinner tonight for Peter & Janine and the Millers. It was quite tasty if I do say so myself! Lastly, a few pics of Micah. He's getting so big, so fast! He's been crawling for about a month now and is everywhere!! He's also sitting up well now, not that he'll stay for long. He loves to be on the go!

Do they look alike?

Most people that see our children say that they look alike. While I can see similarities, I think they look quite different. What do you think? Here are pics of them both around 7 months old.

Yak Yak

Yak Yak has a really good long distance price, so I signed up to be with them about a year back. For the first while everything went well, but about 4 months ago, I started getting extra long distance charges from Eastlink. Eastlink said these charges came from Yak. Anyway, right now Yak owes me about $350 in long distance charges.

I have honestly called about 10 times now and am getting no where. I just received another bill today with more of these charges. Yak has told me that it is their fault, but they can't seem to resolve my issue. I keep having to pay Eastlink this extra money and Eastlink gives it to Yak. I think I'm going to have to cancel with Yak Yak.

I am thankful I have speaker phone, because I have probably spent 3 hours today on hold with them. Anyway, I will not give up until I get my $$!

I am a very patient person on the phone with service reps. I realize that they are not the ones at fault. Although I am always polite, I will admit, I'm starting to get a bit frustrated!! Do you ever yell on the phone when dealing with customer service reps? I haven't, but can't say I haven't felt like it!

Any tips for me!?!? Jamin used to work at a call center and he said it's helpful to ask them for their name.

Potty Training: Day 4

Naomi has probably been ready to be potty trained for a while now, but I have not been ready to train her. We've been travelling a lot and had company, so it was just too hectic. Now that the summer is winding down and we're back on a regular routine, I have decided to give it a try. Monday morning when she woke up, I put her in underwear. She had no accidents her first day. I could hardly believe it! On day two, however, she had 4 accidents. Wednesday & today she had none! I'm so proud of her! We have even been going out a bit and she hasn't had any accidents out.

Why the picture of the smarties you may ask..that's her treat for going on the potty! She's been eating a lot of smarties lately!

It was a GREAT weekend!

I had a really great weekend. It all started Friday night. We attended a bbq @ the Riley's house. Lots of yummy food and cute kids! Naomi had a blast. Then, Saturday morning, Sonya & I went and had pedicures. Jamin had given me a gift card for my birthday. It was fun having Sonya here to go with me.

My toes..Sonya relaxing while getting her toes done.
Saturday night we went out with the Ramseys to the Five Fisherman. YUM! They have an all you can eat muscle & salad bar.
Today we went to church. We love our church and always enjoy going. Always a highlight of our week!

Also, Jonny & Holly came to Halifax to do some surfing this weekend. We got to hang out with them and play some Settlers with them today. Jamin won (of course). Holly gave him a good run though!
As a side note, can you believe that summer is "over"?! It really was such a fast summer....

My sister

Just looking through some pics from Mary & Eric's latest visit. Some people say that she & Naomi look alike. Perhaps it's the curly hair. I am thankful for my sister.

We had a fun time on PEI over the weekend. We were happy to meet our nieces, Emma & Brielle for the first time. Great seeing the family (we missed you, Bobby!!). Although it rained most of the weekend, we were still able to get out a bit.

Here are some pics in no real order!
