Dog sitting & friends

This weekend, Jamin, Jonny & I were dog sitting for our friends Kelly & Jamie's dog, Toffee. Neither of us have ever owned a dog in our lives, so they were brave to ask us. Thanks to the extensive list of instructions that came with Toffee, dog sitting was actually quite fun and easy. Toffee was a very good girl all weekend. She did enjoy barking at all of our friends that came over on the weekend (sorry Margaret, Kelley, Tom, Amanda, Jill, & Steve) and loved to put nose prints on the window as she watched for other dogs :) Her favorite activies from the weekend were going for walks & drives. She & the boys also enjoyed playing chase around the house. As much as I thought she'd like me the most, Jamin was her favorite for sure...ah puppy love....

On Saturday night we had Stephen & Jill & Kelley over for supper. After supper we all played Settlers before we went to watch the boys play hockey. This is Jill, myself & Kelley in the stands @ the game. Nice hats, girls! :)

Weight

Being pregnant has helped me break new records for myself in the department of weight gain. Every year growing up my family would do weigh ins and height measurements at New Years and see who had grown the most and gained the most. Of course, growing up, you always wanted to be the winner (except Mom & Dad!). One year when I was around 14 I put on 18 pounds and broke the existing record. It wasn't long before Peter (my younger brother) made a new record of over 20 pounds. Well, look out...I at setting a new record this year, family!! Maybe just maybe, I'll hit the 30 pound mark! At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised!! I had a Dr.'s appointment yesterday and every time they do a weigh in. They also do blood pressure. Have you ever heard a doctor tell you to eat as much salt as you want? Well, that's what mine told me. My blood pressure is so low (still in the healthy range though), she said a bag of chips wouldn't be a bad thing for me :) Music to my ears....

Sunday Lunch

My brother, Peter & his girlfriend, Janine came over for lunch today. It is always nice to see them. We are enjoying sitting on Jonny's couch. I love getting together with family. Hope to see you guys again soon!!

(Janine, I put a different picture on, but the other one was blurry..sorry :))

Parade of Lights 2005

We went to the Parade of Lights on Saturday night with a bunch of friends. It was a great night for it. Not too cold, but cold enough that we enjoyed the hot chocolate we brought in our thermos. We met up with a few people @ Tyler & Margaret's place, then walked down to our "usual spot" on South Park St.

I took a picture of the boys like the one from last year. Now take a peek and see if you can spot the one major difference! (Sorry Jeff...I traded you in for Jonny)
"The girls". Kelly (Hart), Margaret, myself, Kelley (Myles), & Lauren.

After the parade, we all headed back to Tyler & Margaret's place for an after party. We had a little surprise celebration for Margaret's birthday. (This is Lindsay, Margaret, Tyler & Lindsay's fiance, Hoon)

Jack Astor's...

Last night (Friday), Jamin & I went out to Jack Astor's with our friends

This is us..

This is Tyler & Margaret Mattheis. For those of you who don't know, Margaret & Tyler got married this past August in North Sydney. Kelly & I both stood in their wedding.

This is Kelly & Jonathan Hart. They got married this past September in Margaree. Margaret & I both stood in their wedding. They are up visiting for the weekend.

Every year the Parade of Lights seems to fall right around Margaret's birthday. And for some reason, we always seem to go to Jack Astors. Margaret's bday is this Monday, Nov. 21st...she'll be turning 25. Last night they had her stand on her chair and as we all sang Happy Birthday, everytime the word "you" came she had to shout "I'm a big girl now". Well, she didn't really shout, rather mumble, but we all enjoyed it none the less :) Here's a picture of the beautiful birthday girl on her chair..enjoy!!

Fridays...

I really like Fridays. For numerous reasons. One, I can wear jeans to work. There is something about jeans that I find very comfortable. Secondly, there is a "Friday mood". You know what I mean...people are in a better mood on Fridays, there is something different in the air. Today is Friday, therefore I like today.

Tonight Jamin & I are hanging out with our friends Jonathan & Kelly, and Tyler & Margaret. Tomorrow night we're all going to the Parade of Lights along with some other friends. We go every year. I'll be sure to take pictures to put on over the weekend. Here's one from last year with Jeff, Jamin, Tyler & Jonathan. Jeff & Amanda live in Ontario now, so we will miss them especially this weekend...

Enjoy your Friday!!

Rainy Thursday

Well, here it is Thursday already. I checked all my friends' blogs already today. I'm pumped that new people are starting blogs these days. Kristi, Ian, Colleen, Angela, and I'm encouraging more of you to start one. Maybe even Mom & Dad will join in!! :)

Last night Jamin & I went to our friend's house in Sackville and had small groups with some teens from our church (Temple Baptist). We talked about James 3. It talked all about controlling your tongue...you know..gossiping, lying, etc. Good lesson. Something we can all work on (including me!!). I meant to take a picture of the teens for my blog, but forgot my camera. Maybe next week....

Anyway, enjoy your day. It's raining, but every day is a gift. Practise love today.

Sydney, Australia

Jamin & I were in Sydney, Australia for three weeks (October 1-23). Jamin was going for work, so I tagged along! The flights were looooong, but it was worth it. We flew Halifax to Newark, then to L.A., then to Sydney. The flight over the Pacific was 14 hours! Some of the highlights from our trip are: going to the zoo, seeing the bridge & opera house, going to the Blue Mountains, going to Manly Beach, attending Hillsong Church & eating out! We also felt our baby kick for the first time when we were away!! We loved Sydney and would recommend travelling there :)

Starting a Blog

Well, since everyone else seems to have a blog, I guess Jamin & I should have one too! Life has been busy for us lately, but really great. We recently spent 3 weeks in Sydney, Australia which was awesome. I'll be sure to put some pics up. We're also expecting a baby March 8, 2006 and the time seems to be flying! Anyway, enjoy our blog and drop us a note...love to hear from you :)
